What types of contests are available? . . .
Essentially there are two types of competition we can help you run:
Where a prize is provided for anyone reaching the allotted points (you set the limit), as you are giving something away to every entrant essentially, you need to ensure that the prize or reward is cost-effective, so we would recommend only a digital download or discount voucher off a purchase, or you won't see ROI.
Where one or more prizes (you set the limit) are available to win when entrants into the content reach you nominated value of points, the final winners or winners can be selected from the top people with the most points.
What type of prize can be considered? . . .
The types of rewards that can be offered are varied, and all dependant on the kind of contest you wish to run, here are some ideas:
- Free goods, product or service up to XXX value
- Free entry
- Early access
- Attendance to an event
- Subscription for XXX time
- Money off (voucher or discount)
- Digital download, e-book or other asset delivered digitally via download
How does it work? . . .
The prize is advertised on the Cheshire magazine website, social channels and can also be distributed throughout your own customers, social channels and email subscriber list.
To obtain entry into the contest a user completes small tasks, which our system monitors through unique links created for each registered user. If the user refers a friend or colleague, we then monitor these referrals too, again each receiving a unique link which tracks all of their online actions (shares, comments, referrals and sign-ups), calculating points automatically.
This is the viral element as each of 3 users could generate 3 referrals, then each of those three referrals could refer 3, your now up to 27 referrals from just 3, and so on...
How easy is it to manage?. . .
It couldnt be easier, apart from submitting some information about the company running the campaign, what the prize is and agreeing some launch details, there isnt anything for you to do. Our system manages everything else, we simply provide all the data to you at the end of the campaign's term and you provide the prize direct to the winner.
Who selects a winner?. . .
The winner can be chosen automatically or manually; it can based on:
- The total number of points generated, or
- The total number of referrals, or
- the total amount of social activity
How do we get email sign-ups from the competition?. . .
We make a simple action that tracks the user, once registered to your email sign-up page online, if you don't have one we can collect the signups for you and provide a CSV of all collected emails/leads when the contest is finished.
Is this GDPR compliant?. . .
Yes, the participants read terms and conditions prior to entering, these terms and conditions are written to give us the contest facilitator and you the prize provider a genuine business/interest reason to contact the customer, who enter into the contest of their own valition.
How long do contests run for?. . .
This is flexible and can run for an agreed period, however from our experience, two weeks as an average term for each contest to be open for entries works best.
How much does it cost?. . .
At the moment we are providing contests to clients free of charge, after the free period, a contest will be charged at £200 per contest.
