As Chester welcomes Slater Heelis to the city we talk to Managing Partner Rachel Fletcher about the firm’s continued North West expansion

Chester’s legal landscape has an exciting new addition, with Slater Heelis opening a new office in the heart of the city. With two long-established offices in Manchester - including the city centre - the new Chester opening marks a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth in the region. Located on St John Street, the new office offers Slater Heelis’ complete range of legal services, providing dedicated local support to the firm’s existing Chester client base.

Why was Chester the natural choice for the new Slater Heelis office?

We already have a strong and loyal client base in Cheshire, including Chester. Opening an office in the region allows us to deepen those relationships while expanding our reach across the North West. This move reflects our commitment to investing in local communities and legal networks, and to becoming an active part of Chester’s thriving business and professional landscape. With 250 years of heritage behind us, we’re proud to bring our full-service offering to a city that shares our values of tradition, progress and excellence.

The office will serve as a central legal resource for the Cheshire community. What services will be on offer?

We’re bringing our full-service legal offering to Chester. That includes expert support across crime and regulatory, family law, property, dispute resolution, private client, corporate and commercial, employment and more. Whether businesses, individuals, or community organisations, clients in Chester will benefit from the same high-quality, responsive service that Slater Heelis is known for across the region.

What kind of positive impact has your new office opening had on the local community?

The response from the Chester community has been incredibly warm and welcoming. We’ve already begun conversations with local firms and professionals about collaboration and cross-referral opportunities. Our aim is to foster a spirit of openness and partnership across the Chester legal community and we’re excited to contribute to the city’s continued success. We’d love to hear more about your work and explore how we might support each other.

Since your opening, what kind of reaction have you had from the people of Chester?

The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. From long-standing collaborators to new connections, we’ve received messages of support and enthusiasm about our arrival. Many have expressed interest in working together and we’re looking forward to building strong, lasting relationships across Chester’s legal and business communities.
