Disney's Aladdin at Palace Theatre Manchester
Katie Barrell visited The Palace Theatre in Manchester to escape to a whole new world in Disney's enchanting Aladdin musical
Disney does it again, as the audience were whisked away to the magical kingdom of Agrabah. A truly international cast of stars have been brought together to sing and dance through the well known story of Aladdin and his Princess Jasmine. With conductor Dave Rose at the helm, the familiar tunes rang out across the auditorium, as the audience clapped and sang along.
A truly wonderful performance by Yeukayi Ushe, who achieved the unthinkable of following in the footsteps of Robin Williams and Will Smith to play the Genie, making the character his own, teeming with fun, laughter and cheekiness.
For the children in the audience, the casting director Jill Green selected actors who personify all the characters the Disney animation originally brought to life. It is safe to say an audience of old and young were captivated and if you get the opportunity to catch a performance you will not be disappointed by the magic of Disney.
