El Gato Negro Does Brunch
New breakfast menu sees a Spanish twist on English classics with bottomless fizz to compliment
Diners with a love of brunch can rejoice, El Gato Negro has launched a mouth-watering new menu.
Providing a broad selection of brunch classics served with a Spanish twist, the new menu available at the acclaimed Exchange Flags restaurant will have even the latest of sleepers wanting to get out of bed.
Available from 11am to 1pm every Saturday, guests can choose from the healthiest of eats to the naughtiest of treats including El Gato Negro’s Acai Bowl with blueberries, strawberries, granola and viola flowers (£6); Smashed Avocado and romesco sauce, served with poached egg on sourdough toast and hollandaise (£7.50); and the restaurant’s Torrijas, Spanish style French toast dusted with cinnamon sugar (£5).
For a greater flavour of Spain savour the taste of El Gato Negro’s Huevos Rotos, panfried chorizo with patatas bravas, creamy chorizo sauce and fried egg (£7.50), and Spanish Muffin, a pork & chorizo patty served with bacon, a fried egg with manchego cheese, and caramelised onion (£8).
There’s Smoked Salmon (£9); Portobello Mushrooms (£6); a traditional Tortilla (£5.50 or £7.50 with bacon); Sobrasada - chorizo spread on toasted brioche with duck egg (£6.50); Manchego Hash Browns with fried egg (£5); and Homemade Baked Beans with fritada sauce with sourdough with butter (£5) too. Fancy more of one of your favourites? Don’t worry, El Gato Negro has so many optional extra sides they almost need a menu of their own!
For those looking to make brunch a real occasion the popular Spanish restaurant is inviting guests to choose two main brunch dishes and unlimited drinks for £30pp. Drinks are available for 90 minutes from the point of order and include mimosa, fizz, Cava, Bellini, cerveza, red & white wine.
Mocktails, soft drinks and a great selection of teas and coffees are available on the main menu for guests looking for a lighter lunch.
