Family Fun in the Heart of Vilamoura
Kathryn Otto found Hilton Vilamoura Golf Resort and Spa to be the perfect family summer destination and a paradise for golf enthusiasts
Location
Set amid five acres of landscaped gardens, the resort is close to five different Championship golf courses. Located in five acres of glorious manicured gardens in the popular โGolden Triangleโ area of Algarve, adjacent to the prestigious Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course, the resort is also a free shuttle bus away from Vilamoura Marina and Falesia private beach, with Central Vilamoura only a kilometre away.
Rooms
The comfortable guest rooms enjoy large balconies or terraces and some of the rooms and suites overlook the nearby golf courses or the resortโs lush gardens and pools. You can upgrade to a Family room or suite for more spacious accommodation, or choose the One- or Two-Bedroom Apartments providing a separate living room and a fully equipped kitchenette.
Food & Beverage
Moscada hosts your buffet breakfast, which you can enjoy on the terrace with a fresh juice. This restaurant also presents seasonal indoor and alfresco themed evening buffets throughout July and August.
Listen to the sound of the resortโs waterfalls as you sample delicacies from the Mediterranean Barbecue at Aquarela Bar and Restaurant. Savour juicy fresh seafood and choose from a wide range of fresh salads. Sip a variety of fruit smoothies and cocktails whilst enjoying poolside views at the Hilton Vilamoura.
Cilantro is opened seasonally and serves traditional Portuguese and Latin American cuisine.
MY.AL.MAR serves โTapas by the Seaโ. Youโll awaken your senses with magnificent sea views, delectable tapas, and a peaceful vibe.
Finally, there is Rubi Bar where you can watch sporting events on the TV from the comfort of a luxurious leather chair. The bar offers a mixture of cocktails and gins mixed with the resortโs homemade tonic water whilst watching the live music.
Facilities
An oasis of tranquillity awaits at 7 Seven Spa. With an indoor thermal pool, Turkish baths, rejuvenating saunas, an experience tunnel and zen gardens, itโs the perfect place to unwind after a long day. There are wide range of beauty treatments on offer too including a range of facials, body scrubs, and wraps. There are also signature treatments for combined therapies, couplesโ massages, and complimentary refreshments to enhance your visit.
Vilamoura is considered to be Portugalโs golfing capital, with five well designed courses offering different levels of difficulty close to the resort. The five golf courses include Old Course, Pinhal, Laguna, Millennium and the Arnold Palmerโs Victoria where the Portugal Masters takes place.
The Kids Club offers treasure hunting, beach games, table games, tree houses, sports challenges, competitions, video games, and a special menu for them.
Our Experience
Hilton Vilamoura is a fun filled hotel, ideal if you are a family with children of any age. Offering a large swimming pool and an adults only pool, Kids Club, food and drinks to suit all tastes and friendly staff that are always on hand to help in any way they can. Our huge suite with a lovely large balcony allowed us to sunbathe or sit more formally at the table to enjoy room service and an evening drink, which we did many times.
We loved the gorgeous luxury spa onsite, accessed by leaving the reception and entering the building opposite so you enjoy a true spa experience and do not feel itโs an in-house hotel spa. There was an endless list of treatments to choose from in a lovely tranquil and calming environment, just what we needed. This was probably our favourite part of the holiday. Much to my partner Johnโs disappointment we didnโt get to try out any of the five nearby golf courses but we spoke to many guests who said it was superb, giving us a reason to return.
