The Masai Mara is one of Africa's premier safari destinations, home to an extraordinary wealth of wildlife. The landscapes are characterised by savanna grasslands extending as far as the eye can see, with pockets of acacia woodlands and riverine forests. As you explore the vast plains in a safari vehicle, binoculars in hand, you'll track big cats, spot giraffes feeding from acacia trees, and watch herds of elephant and zebra make their way to waterholes. In the evenings, retreat to a luxury tented safari camp and watch the sun sink below the horizon while enjoying all the comforts of home.

What makes the Masai Mara so special?
The Masai Mara is truly exclusive. At Soroi Luxury Migration Camp, there are just ten tents in total, which creates an incredibly intimate atmosphere. You're living in the bush, but in the most luxurious sense; each tent is beautifully appointed with every comfort you could need.
What can guests expect from Soroi Luxury Migration Camp?
Think five-star-plus luxury in the heart of the wilderness. The food is outstanding, organic with breads and patisserie freshly made in-house by the camp's chefs and there's a generous selection of drinks as part of the all-inclusive experience. But what truly sets it apart is the feeling of being completely immersed in nature, surrounded by wild animals. After dark, movement between tents and the dining area required a Masai escort, a reminder that you are very much a guest in their world. Each tent also comes with its own minibar and refreshments, so you're never without the little luxuries.
How does a beach and bush itinerary work, and why does it make the perfect Kenya trip?
Safari days are exhilarating but wonderfully exhausting; you're up at 5am and out on the game drive by 6am. with breakfast served in the bush to maximise every precious hour in the Mara. After three nights taking in that vast, extraordinary landscape, there's nothing quite like unwinding on the beautiful coast of Mombasa with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean on your doorstep. The contrast is perfect; it gives you the best of both worlds.
What does true luxury look like on safari?
It's genuinely hard to put into words. For my family and me, this was simply the most extraordinary holiday we have ever experienced. You are completely at one with nature, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and breathtaking landscape with no buildings, no roads, no signs of modern life in any direction. It's rare and humbling in equal measure.
When is the best time to witness the Great Migration?
The Great Migration typically takes place between July and August, as the herds move between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It's one of nature's most spectacular events and timing your visit around it is absolutely worthwhile.
What does Kenya give a traveller that nowhere else can?
The people. The warmth, professionalism and genuine courtesy of everyone we encountered was remarkable. Every guest is made to feel truly special and that hospitality stays with you long after you've come home.
