My Life - Albert Muntane, Clinical Director at Superior Smiles
How would you describe yourself?
Innovative, meticulous, and quietly ambitious. I take pride in delivering precision led, patient centred care with a calm, considered approach. Iβm always exploring ways to push boundaries in dentistry, but with an eye for elegance, not ego.
Home and work life in Cheshire?
Life is wonderfully full. Balancing running a leading dental practice with enjoying everything Cheshire has to offer. From vibrant village life to Sunday walks, I find the contrast both grounding and inspiring.
What would you do to improve the area you live in?
As someone from Spainβ¦ definitely more sunshine! But honestly, Iβd love to see more culinary diversity. Iβm a big foodie, and while Cheshire has some fantastic places, Iβd welcome even more exciting restaurants with international flavours and creative menus.
What aspect of your life would your 18-year-old self be shocked by?
That I own a dental practice in the UK, in one of the most desirable areas of the country. I think heβd be surprised I swapped Mediterranean beaches for English countryside, but Iβm sure heβd approve of the design choices.
Your favourite places to be?
Barcelona, always. But Iβm equally content in a Cheshire country pub after a long walk, or by the sea with a good book and no phone signal.
Who inspires you?
Iβm not one for idols. I believe in refining your own version of excellence, becoming a better version of yourself every day. That quiet accountability is what inspires me most.
One thing that propelled you forward?
Knowing that technical skill is nothing without personal growth. I constantly seek out ways to evolve, not just as a clinician, but as a leader and a human being.
Last gift you gave?
A beautifully tailored chefβs apron to someone who deserves Michelin stars for their home cooking.
A fun fact or secret?
People always assume that because Iβm a dentist, I must live a very serious or clinical life. Truth is, I love having a good time with friends, I love sport, and I donβt take myself too seriously outside of work. Balance is everything.
What would you place in Room 101?
Mediocrity. Whether itβs coffee, conversations or dental work, lifeβs too short for βthatβll doβ.
One song on repeat?
βLevelsβ by Avicii. Itβs a classic that never fails to put me in a good headspace.
Podcast youβre listening to lately?
Mind the Game - Iβve always been inspired by people in sport. Their discipline, mindset and ability to perform under pressure translate into so many areas of life. Itβs not about basketball for me - itβs about what it takes to be excellent at anything.
Your Mastermind subject?
Modern aesthetic dentistry and how to make it feel effortless for patients.
Biggest life lesson?
Precision means nothing without compassion. The most important thing Iβve learned is that people never forget how you made them feel.
