Laurent-Perrier is proud to be the official Champagne partner of Chester Racecourse. Laurent-Perrier and Chester Racecourse hold a long standing partnership together sharing similar values. Both pioneers, leaders in their field and award winning, with a focus on creating special and memorable experiences.
Laurent-Perrier is a family-owned House that has always had a pioneering and innovating role in Champagne. Through its engagement in Sustainable Viticulture of the Champagne vineyards and with each of its Cuvées, the House was created around 4 strong convictions: The assemblage, not the vintage, a unique and distinctive style: freshness, elegance and purity, Chardonnay and the expression of Pinot Noir.
Chester Racecourse, established in 1539, is the oldest racecourse still in operation in the world. Recognised as a leader in its field, it consistently pushes boundaries to ensure the racecourse product delivers the optimum experience and opportunities for visiting horsemen and the general public.
Which of the exclusive Laurent-Perrier range proves most popular at race events?
Cuvée Rosé is a popular choice at the races. Since 1968, Laurent-Perrier has developed the mastery of a very particular and rare know-how in Champagne: maceration. This process makes it possible to obtain the richest and most subtle expression of Pinot Noir. This rosé champagne is characterized by its ripe red fruit aromas, a high intensity and great freshness.
However, the whole Laurent-Perrier range is available including its Prestige Cuvée Grand Siècle. Vintage in Champagne is usually synonymous with excellence for Prestige Cuvées. Contrarily, Laurent-Perrier has always been convinced that only the art of assemblage can offer what nature can never provide: the perfect year. The expression of the perfect year is that of a great Champagne wine that over time has developed a depth, intensity and aromatic complexity, yet maintains its freshness and acidity. To create such a wine, Laurent-Perrier will rely on the characteristics of the great vintage years of Champagne: freshness, structure and finesse.
What can guests expect from The Parade this season?
Guests will be able to enjoy the Laurent-Perrier range (including Cuvée Rosé and Grand Siècle) from the most premium spot on course, the beautiful summer roof garden bar and viewing terrace at The PARADE. Guests will be welcomed by a champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé reception before they enjoy an immersive gastronomic journey.
What changes can guests expect to the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Bar ahead of the upcoming season?
The Laurent-Perrier Champagne Bar at the racecourse has undergone a refresh ahead of the new season with a focus on Cuvée Rosé. Expect to see lots of beautiful flowers and an updated terrace space with a great view of the course.
How important is sustainability to both companies?
Both Chester Racecourse and Laurent-Perrier recognise the importance of building a sustainable business. Since the 1980s, Champagne has been dedicated to implementing solutions to protect the environment. As growers and producers of fine Champagne wines, Laurent-Perrier is committed to ending all practices or actions which may cause irreversible damage to the environment. This pledge lives and breathes daily at the House, showing a continual respect for the environment and finite natural resources. The House’s long-term policy in grape growing and wine elaboration is based entirely on sustainable methods, through the careful management of resources such as water and energy, the balanced use of terroirs and soils and the reduction of waste at the source through recycling and recovery efforts.
