In a nutshell what is Thermal Lightweight Aggregate (TLA)?
Thermal Lightweight Aggregate (TLA) is an innovative pourable insulation.
What are the benefits of having your home insulated this way?
Our unique free flowing and self-levelling product ensures faster, more efficient installations and provides excellent thermal performance, enhanced compressive strength and an outstanding A2 fire rating. ‘energystore TLA®’ can be poured to any thickness, naturally absorbing any camber or unevenness in the existing floor or sub-base. Precise amounts are produced and poured on-site leaving no waste for customers to dispose of. Our floor solutions use up to 80% less cement than traditional concrete products and an entire project can be completed with just one vehicle, resulting in a marked reduction of CO2 impact on the environment.
Can residential homes replace current insolation with TLA?
Yes. It is worth noting that our poured insulation helps to reduce heat loss/transfer more effectively than traditional PIR insulation boards. Not only is this more cost-effective, it also reduces energy waste and is therefore more environmentally friendly.
Can you tell us about some recent projects you’ve worked on?
In recent weeks, we have worked in Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, North Wales and Lancashire.
We were delighted recently to help a client undertaking a large refurbishment of their home in Hale Barns with uneven subfloors and poor thermal values. Our poured insulation successfully addressed both of these issues and exceeded all target criteria. Once the underfloor heating had been installed in the property, we returned to provide our cementitious liquid screed throughout the ground floor.
