In todays world our health is as important as ever, and the need for a healthy balanced diet plays a huge part in that. I think many reading this now would like to make some changes to their diet, but the reality is that it can be easy and convenient not to have the best diet.

Well Après Food Co.s new healthy food delivery service might have the answers for you! I will admit that I am a meat and potato kind of guy and, admittedly fall foul to the points I have already made. So I was looking forward to trying a range of healthy convenient meals. Not only were these meals healthy and nutritious, but they were also so appealing and made a fresh change to the cycle of monotonous meals I would otherwise make for myself.

The first dish that I tried was the 12 hour slow-cooked Sri Lankan lamb curry. Any dish that has been slow-cooked instantly makes my mouth water. After having this dish I can safely say that I would eat this almost every day of the week! The lamb was so tender and the flavours did transport you to this Asian Island. This certainly was restaurant quality, and all this was a ready meal!

The second dish that I tried was the 15-hour slow-cooked beef bourguignon. Slow-cooked again so it is already winning for me! Beef Bourguignon is an old favourite for me, but if I did find the time to make it, it probably would not turn out to be a healthy option. As we are lead to believe that healthy equals bland and tasteless. Yet again I could not believe I was eating a healthy ready meal as it was all but bland and tasteless. It was everything you could want out of homemade Beef Bourguignon.

For a dessert I tried the sticky toffee pudding and had made some cookies out of the chocolate chip cookie dough. Now sticky toffee pudding and cookies only normally mean that waistline is going to expand! So to have a kinder version of these that might not be so damaging to your waistline is certainly an added bonus. And they were spot on, I’d even say the sticky toffee pudding was one of the better ones I have had in a long time.

If you’re like me I am sure that you do enjoy a bit of a treat for breakfast on a Sunday morning, so the American style Blueberry pancakes were a perfect way to start on a Sunday without worrying about not having a nutritious enough breakfast.

Après Food Co. has many more dishes on offer and is great if you are looking to make an easy change to your diet or if you are just looking to try some new meals. After this taster I’d certainly go back for more.
