Kevin Evans visited Da Noi in Chester for Regional Italian food with a contemporary twist
Da Noi is an absolute gem that is tucked away in the heart of Chester near the main drag on the high street. In 2012, Valentina and her husband Fabrizio moved from the foodie heaven of Turin Italy to Cheshire.
Valentina developed her passion for food from her Nonna, and pursued this passion by enrolling at the prestigious โAssociazione Cuochiโ catering school in Turin. After moving to the UK with Fabrizioโs old job in 2012, the couple realised there was a gap for truly authentic Italian cooking in the North West and (much to Valentinaโs initial despair) decided it was time to try their hand at becoming restaurateurs - and Da Noi was born!
Valentinaโs style is to elevate regional Italian food and give it a contemporary twist. When she curates her menu she looks to take clients on a journey and transport guests to her home region of Piemonte.
My colleague and I went for lunch on a Saturday and received such a warm welcome from Fabrizio and the team. On the menu - regional Italian food with a twist, with Italian wines to compliment them. The staff were only too pleased to help us with our choice.
We couldnโt believe the quality of the food and experience, and value for money โ this is definitely a restaurant where you get more than you bargained for.
Our highlights were the carbonara with crispy pancetta and also the desserts. You really need to save space for these โ the tiramisu was by far one of the best I have had in a while.
I would really recommend visiting Da Noi as it really delivers and gives you that authentic Italian experience with such a warm friendly feel โ an experience not one to be missed.
