The Golden Lunch
The Cheshire Magazine Golden Lunch In Memory of Rachel O'Hare, at The Ivy Asia Manchester, Sponsored by Mappin & Webb
Thursday 6th November saw over 80 guests come together to celebrate the life of The Cheshire Magazine’s dear friend and colleague, Rachel O’Hare. The event has so far raised over £15,000 for her chosen charity, Women’s Aid.
Every detail of the event was thoughtfully curated with Rachel in mind - from the chosen venue to the lively entertainment and background playlist - reflecting her warm, vibrant character and the lasting influence she had on everyone who knew her.
The afternoon began with a welcome drink at Mappin & Webb’s stunning new showroom in St. Ann’s Square. Guests were treated to an exclusive private tour of the impressive new space before unwinding in the stylish lounge area and bar downstairs. Each guest was then chauffeured in Mappin & Webb wrapped black cabs to The Ivy Asia in Spinningfields.
Here, the afternoon continued with a heartfelt performance of The Beatles’ Let It Be, by the uber-talented singer/songwriter Nina Morton, as a video celebrating Rachel’s life was played.
A stunning performance by sibling duo, String Infusion, followed as Danny Elliot and Paul Dawson from Macclesfield F.C met with guests and hosted the afternoon’s raffle to raise funds for Women’s Aid.
Guests then enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal, before the charismatic Richard Irving hosted the charity auction, where prizes included VIP tickets to The Bentley Room for JLS at Co-op Live, a private suite at an upcoming Westlife concert, plus a stay at an exclusive villa in Marrakech. Thank you to Co-Op Live, Jude Cisse, Emma Strain, Christine Gernon and Catherine Bull for their generosity in donating prizes for the auction.
Finally, guests were treated to a surprise performance by The Sing Along Waiters, who brought the house down and ended the afternoon on a high note, with everyone on their feet, joyfully waving their napkins in a lively sing-along.
A special thank you to luxury print designer, Daniel Khan for creating ‘Rachel’s Tree of Love’, a limited edition silk scarf, commissioned by The Cheshire Magazine, that is being sold, with all proceeds donated to Women’s Aid.
A huge thank you to brand sponsor Hästens, soon to launch a beautiful new store in Wilmslow and Fortnum & Mason, La Prairie, CPASE and Nails Inc., who kindly contributed towards the gift bags for this most special occasion.
Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone who generously contributed a raffle prize for the event.
