Identical at The Lowry
Katie Barrell visited The Lowry Theatre in Salford to watch the new musical based on the novel The Parent Trap
Last night we joined a packed out audience at the Lowry Theatre in Salford to watch the highly anticipated new musical Identical.
Based on the 1949 novel Lisa and Lottie and with the many adaptions by Disney, the story is based on two twin girls separated at birth who meet each other at summer camp and devise a plan to switch places and meet the parent they have never known.
The adventure grabs your attention from the opening scenes. The back drop and scenery is so realistic it transforms you into the story.
With outstanding performances from the young cast there has to be a special mention to Kyla and Nicole Fox who were both compelling, captivating and really encapsulated the characters of the twins and their relationship perfectly.
The music from the orchestra and songs throughout were powerful, fun and emotional at times, they carried you along their journey throughout the whole show.
Overall a immaculate performance from the entire cast and a show that I would happily return and watch again. Heart warming, tear jerking, moving, laugh out loud and nostalgic- 10 out of 10 and unmissable for all the family.
