Mother's Day at Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, The Cheshire Magazine team took their  Mum’s for an early surprise celebration

The idyllic Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa was the choice of venue for Kat Hannon  and her Mum, Pauline

Kat says

“They have everything at The Grosvenor Pulford, Spa and Hotel, a stunning Palm Court restaurant and a pub! With Chester only up the road, it’s the perfect venue to combine a spa weekend with shopping.

The location was beautifully set in the countryside and only a stone’s throw from Chester as well as bordering onto North Wales and all its glory.

As we pulled up we took in the beautiful old period building.  At reception there was a contemporary glass feature which made for a stunning entrance which really set the tone.

As we arrived at the Spa The staff extremely lovely and gave us the best experience.  They were very informative and kept us topped up with waters, herbal teas and anything good for our bodies!

As soon as you walk into the Spa it is dark, with little twinkly lights and water running.  The smells of the oils hits you in the waiting room, making you anticipate what’s to come. The Spa was gorgeous and immediately puts you in a relaxed state.

The use of the pool and hot tub were lovely features to add to the spa day and made it a more complete experience for me.

We had a joint massage experience, (which I haven’t done before), which made the trip extra special as we experienced the treatment together.

Following our spa we headed to Palm Court for dinner, which was incredible. The decor alone puts a smile on my face: a beautiful blend of feature lighting merged with foliage and water trickling sounds from the indoor water feature. An epic feature is the self-playing piano, which just so happened to play a song very close to my heart. So I knew I was in the right place.”

“I was thrilled at the news of being treated to an early Mother’s Day spa and excited to try the Grosvenor Pulford as I am a regular spa goer and had yet to visit there. The hotel and spa are set in the countryside, only a short drive from the elegant city of Chester.

A relaxing massage was long overdue, and the spa offered everything I needed. Kat and I had a Hot Stone Massage. The masseuse explained she was using Balinese stones bathed in the Frangipani Monoi Body Oil to work deep into my muscles, getting into areas of tension. My skin felt hydrated and I felt completely relaxed. I then had a Elemis Touch: Skin Solutions Facial in which my masseuse explained “targeted treatments will gently but firmly take on the challenges of sensitivity, oiliness and dullness for healthier complexions.” After the treatments we used the rest of the spa which included 3 relaxation rooms, a couple’s VIP suite, traditional Hamman, a Roman/colonnaded style swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna.

After enjoying the spa, we changed and went to dinner. Located within an impressive conservatory bursting with the greenery of the Kentia Palm tree and filled with the calming sounds of bubbling fountains; Palm Court is a garden room restaurant unlike any other. The restaurant offers quality British and European cuisine, and we had a gorgeous meal topped off with wine.”
