My Life... Dan Hooper
We talk to Dan Hooper, Fitness Coach at CPASE Health Club
How would you describe yourself?
I don’t take myself too seriously, outgoing, fun, caring and passionate about helping others.
Where is home? And work?
I’m originally from Stockport but now live in Worsley with my fiancé Rachael, my daughters Lexi (11), Pippa (9 months) and stepdaughter Chloe-May (11). And our untrainable dog Hugo who is a crazy loving Cavapoochon. I work at the luxury boutique health club, CPASE, in the heart of Cheshire as a Health and Fitness Coach. I’m very lucky to be part of something so unique and special surrounded by such a fantastic team.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
From as young as I remember I always wanted to be a professional footballer and luckily, I managed to achieve this, moving up through the youth ranks from the age of 7 at various clubs and then onto a couple of stints in Scandinavia. It wasn’t the career I had hoped for as injuries cut my career short and I then dropped down the leagues, but I always look back with fond memories and the amazing people I met on that journey.
Name a few of your favourite places to be...
I absolutely love Barcelona, I think it has everything from amazing food, architecture and great nightlife. Over the last few years as a family, we have been lucky enough to rent a beautiful house in Saint Paul de Vence in the South of France and had some wonderful times.
What or who inspires you?
Without a doubt my whole family, but I would have to single out my stepdaughter Chloe-May who has dyspraxia and learning difficulties, yet she wakes up every morning with absolutely no fear, with a smile on her face ready for the daily challenges that lay ahead.
What was the last gift you gave someone?
Secret Santa at work. A very nice bottle of Malbec.
Tell us a secret/fun fact?
I’m a trained TV actor and have appeared in quite a few things.
What would your Mastermind subject be?
Movie quotes.
What’s been your biggest life lesson?
The decisions that scare you the most are usually the ones that change your life for the better.
