How would you describe yourself?
A confident, charismatic, people person with 12 years experience in hospitality.
Where is home? And work?
Home is my newly purchased house in Huntington, Chester with my wife Claire and our dog, Winter the Spoodle. Work is 125 acres of Chester Zoo overseeing the food and beverage offer.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I always wanted to be a spy, films like Bond, Bourne and Mission Impossible make it seem very dangerous, exciting and glamorous. The reality of being 6ft 4 means that you stand out in a crowd, not a very good spy attribute.
Name a few of your favourite places to be?
Some of my favourite places are Wepre park with my wife and dog, the Lake District, especially Bowness on Windermere and I would have to say the gym, those are my happy places. Even though it's my place of work, the zoo is an amazing place to be and one of my favourites.
What / who inspires you?
I find Keanu Reeves contagiously inspiring; you don't have to look very hard for the amount of inspiring work he does, the vast majority with no press coverage and behind the scenes of his Hollywood image.
What was the last gift you gave someone?
The dog - a new ball, this is a weekly occurrence, but I always get the best reactions.
Tell us a secret/fun fact?
I am a big fan of snowboarding, rock climbing and heavy metal.
Who or what would you place in room 101?
Bad parking, it drives me mad.
What's been your biggest life lesson?
To attain a work/life balance. Life passes far too quickly when you don't have any; you don't have to make yourself miserable to be successful. Don't confuse having a career with having a life.
