Vorasit ‘Wan’ Issara on bringing CircoLoco from DC-10 to the Andaman Coast
Baba Beach Club Natai was created by Vorasit ‘Wan’ Issara – a DJ-turned-hotelier who set out to build a luxury playground for music lovers. What began as a passion for partying evolved into a hotel concept on a private stretch of sand in Natai, now home to Thailand’s most in-demand destination music event and the man who brought Ibiza’s most iconic clubbing name to the Andaman coast.
CircoLoco wrapped its biggest Thailand edition to date back in January, welcoming over 20,000 people across two sold-out weekends at Baba Beach Club Natai. The event has truly elevated Baba Beach Club’s reputation as a global party destination. Wan says, “Welcoming 20,000 guests across two weekends in January was a massive milestone. It proved that Thailand isn’t just a stop on a tour; it’s a global destination for music lovers. When the ‘Red Clown’ of CircoLoco takes over, the eyes of the international community are on us. It has solidified Baba Beach Club Natai as the definitive hub for high-end, credible music culture in Southeast Asia, supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.”
But how did Wan Vorasit Issara ensure the energy and authenticity of Ibiza translate to the Andaman coast? “Authenticity isn’t something you can just ‘import’, you have to build the right environment for it to thrive,” Wan explains. “We didn’t just bring the CircoLoco name; we brought the DC-10 soul. We worked closely with the CircoLoco team to maintain their signature production standards, artist programming, and visual identity, while layering in Thai hospitality and our own beach-club sensibility. By integrating our custom Funktion-One sound systems with Natai’s raw, natural beauty, we create a space where the music feels like it belongs to the landscape. The result is not a copy of Ibiza, it’s CircoLoco in Thailand, with integrity intact and an energy that is pure Ibiza.”
As a DJ-turned-hotelier, Wan Vorasit Issara is incredibly hands-on when it comes to booking talent. He says, “Music is the DNA of everything we do. I’m still very involved in the curation because we aren’t just looking for big names; we’re looking for ‘selectors’ who understand the journey from a sunset groove to a sunrise finale. While we look for global icons, we are also deeply committed to supporting local talents, giving Thai artists a platform to perform alongside the world’s best.”
Wan also looks to the North West for talent, including Liverpool’s James Hype. He shares, “We’re always watching the UK scene - it’s a powerhouse. James Hype is a technical wizard; seeing that kind of energy on the Natai sands would be electric. We’re always in talks to bring that calibre of talent to our shores.”
Baba Beach Club Natai has become synonymous with destination celebrations, hosting a number of huge events. So what makes the venue a perfect setting for guests looking to celebrate milestone birthdays or anniversaries? Wan states, “Natai is our ‘Music Lovers’ Hotel,’ and there’s an intimacy here that larger destinations lack. When you celebrate a 40th birthday or a 10th anniversary here, you’re not just in a venue; you’re in a private sanctuary. Whether it’s a champagne breakfast in a 5-Bedroom Beachfront Villa or a private sunset session at the pool, we provide a sense of ‘home’ that happens to have a world-class soundtrack.”
For guests looking to celebrate in true Baba style at Baba Beach Club Naai, the team put on a range of bespoke experiences. Wan reveals, “We don’t do ‘cookie-cutter’. For our VIPs, we curate everything from private villa after-parties with their own DJ setup to ‘takeovers’ of the Baba Jungle. We’ve had guests request full music-led takeovers where we tailor the entire resort’s atmosphere to their celebration. If you want a private dinner on the sand followed by a high-octane set with the world’s best DJs, we make it happen.”
Wan and the team go the extra mile for guests flying in for destination celebrations. He shares, “For our guests arriving from overseas, the experience starts long before they reach the resort. We provide a seamless arrival with Fast Track immigration service and private transfers. Once on-site, we handle everything: in-villa check-ins and bespoke wellness ‘recovery’ sessions at Cool Spa the morning after. We can even pre-load the in-room entertainment with a guest’s favourite genre so the moment they walk into their villa, the mood is set. It’s about effortless luxury.”
With the success of the 2026 event, Wan shares his plans for CircoLoco Thailand 2027, “The vision is long-term - not just bigger, but better. After the success of 2026, we’re going even deeper. Our ambition is sustainable growth without losing the intimacy that makes our venue so special.” Wan continues, “For 2027, we are exploring expanded creative production and deeper brand collaborations, while further refining the technical elements - specifically our bespoke sound systems and focusing on even smoother, faster service. Our commitment is to preserve that authenticity while continuing to elevate Thailand as a global music destination, always keeping the music at the centre of the frame.”
