After hours of pounding the streets in preparation the big day arrived!
Lining up on Sunday at the Chester Half Marathon with over 6000 runners were the Save the Family’s Superheroes! - Scott Rigby (Batman); Gary Davis (Spider-Man); Rich Cartwright (Thor); Dalat (Superman)
In Super Hero outfits, doing plenty of “high 5’s” along the way, the team crossed the finish line running rather than flying, jumping or with the use of amazing gadgets. The team raised over £2000 for Cancer research and local the homeless families charity. Save the Family had a further eight runners including a team from Reed.co.uk in Manchester.
Fundraiser Suzanne Woods, said ‘we are always looking for volunteers who want to run for the Charity… Save the Family could not exist without the tireless work of our volunteer fundraisers. In total over £3000 was raised. Every penny will go to support homeless families in our community.
