Blood, Sweat and Gears
Tour de Manc® is a charitable “tough” sportive through all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs. With the option of the Full Manc (100 miles) or the Half Manc (100 km), The Tour de Manc is a challenge not for the faint hearted.
Tour de Manc® was conceived in 2015 by Danny Franks, who came up with the idea of a charitable “tough” sportive through all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs.
Danny rode an 80 mile Tour de Manc route, solo, to fundraise for Forever Manchester,
In 2016 Danny joined forces with old school friend Tony Rubins and created the #all4charity non-profit Tour de Manc Ltd. Tony had arranged and participated in a number of cycling events to fundraise for the Haematology & Transplant Support Charity (HaTS) and The Christie Appeal.
Together, Danny and Tony developed the idea of Tour de Manc®. The idea was simple – to run epic cycling events which could also be used to raise significant funds for registered charities, as well as supporting cycling inclusivity for all. Tour de Manc® … using cycling as a force for good in Greater Manchester.
Full Manc 7:30 AM - 5:45 PM 100 Miles
This is the toughest challenge in the current Tour de Manc® programme. This route is not for the unprepared or faint hearted… It’s a challenge, epic and based on the 2017 and 2018 feedback you’ll be “Mad ‘fer it”.

The Full Manc starts and finishes at the David Lloyd Manchester North Club – who have generously donated the use of their club facilities and are providing great support. The Full Manc is just over 103 miles long, tours all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester in an anti-clockwise direction and has around 8700 ft. of climbing to test yourselves on. There are a number of closed road sections including the King/Queen of the mountain prize section, which tackles the lung-busting Werneth Low.
Half Manc 8:00 AM - 5:45 PM 100Km
This is a tough challenge for the fit occasional rider. This route is not a flat procession, but an achievable challenge, which you will enjoy. We had incredible feedback from the 2017 and 2018 event and we are sure we will see many of those riders back again in 2019. Why not take a look at our Gallery page and facebook reviews ! The Half Manc is 62 miles / 100km long and shares the first 50 Miles of the Full Manc Route. The Half Manc also starts and finishes at the David Lloyd Manchester North Club – who have generously donated the use of their club facilities and are providing great support. It takes an anti-clockwise circuit of Greater Manchester and has around 4500 ft of climbing to tackle. There are a number of closed road or restricted access sections including the King/Queen of the mountain prize section, which tackles the lung-busting Werneth Low.
The Tour de Manc® is not all about the fastest and this is not a race – spot prizes are awarded for grit and determination.
