Katie Barrell visited The Opera House in Manchester to see the award winning musical Chicago
Showing at the Opera House in Manchester I had to take the opportunity to see the awarding winner musical that is Chicago.
Set in the roaring twenties it’s the story of Roxy Heart and how she used the glitz and glamour of the Jazz age to perform and gain the sympathy of the courts to walk away from a murder charge that she was truly guilty of, the musical based around true stories of the time sensationally brings the characters to life.
Roxy played by Faye Brookes and Velma Kelly played by Michelle Andrews stole the show with their amazing dance moves, breath taking voices and overall stage presence.
Joined by the supporting cast including Shelia Ferguson the show will take you back in time, entice you into the story where you will find yourself willing Roxy and Velma to be set free to live their dreams performing on stage.
Highly recommend for everyone to join the sass and glamour that is Chicago.
