Find Your Fit - Mind Set

Success starts in your head and if you can achieve what the mind believes, then you are without limits. A positive mindset can be the difference between success and failure along your journey to whatever you aim to achieve in your life.

Having a positive mindset provides a focus and is arguably one of the most important aspects of your fitness goals, your confidence, wellbeing and enables you to become the best version of you.

You may have an important event coming up that you want to look and feel your best for, for example, a wedding or even your own wedding!

Achieving goals is more than completing regular workouts, performing exercises with good form and eating healthily. Your success is determined by your mindset and the belief that talent and results can be developed and achieved with hard work.

So, how can I develop a strong mindset?

  1. Clearly define your goals and remain focused on them.

  2. Consistency is key when it comes to achieving long term results.

  3. Look at how you can improve your lifestyle and review your current habits. It may be that you want more quality sleep, to drink more water, exercise more frequently or set specific goals such as running a 10k or marathon, or losing a set amount of weight/body fat.

  4. Consider the steps that you need to take in order to reach your goals and track your progress to provide you with accountability.


Mindset not only provides you with the focus to achieve your goals but it also allows you to take control of your health. The positive effects of this include feeling happier, being more productive, keeping your brain functions sharp, improving your sleep and boosting your confidence.

Here are some of my top tips to help you to improve your mindset:

  • Wake up early at around 6am and seize the day

  • Take a cold shower every day. Cold showers in the morning increase circulation, improve alertness, make your hair and skin glow and help to reduce stress

  • Develop a positive attitude and believe in your inner self to overcome daily obstacles

  • Visualise success, develop and then track good habits

  • Celebrate small successes as a way to motivate you to continue to achieve more

Achieving your goals is as much a mental process as it is a physical one. Developing a strong mindset will provide structure and consistency to your lifestyle. This will help you to adhere to a game plan that combines the key aspects of your lifestyle. To keep the mind and body in sync you should live in the present moment and maintain full focus on the goals that you are working towards right now. Don’t give up!
