Health, beauty and self-care are no longer indulgences; they are part of how we look after our wellbeing. Since the pandemic, society has become far more aware that how we feel in our bodies is closely tied to our mental health, not just our appearance. For many people, especially parents who have been through pregnancy, breastfeeding or significant weight loss, that awareness is prompting a fresh look at options to restore, reconstruct or enhance the parts of their bodies that have changed along the way.
This family-focused issue felt like the right moment to talk about a procedure many mums quietly consider but rarely discuss: post-pregnancy and post-weight loss body restoration. Carrying and feeding children, or losing significant weight, can leave lasting changes: abdominal muscle separation, loose skin and volume loss that no amount of exercise or diet can fully reverse. For many women, addressing this is not about vanity;
it is about feeling like themselves again, in their own skin, for the first time in years.
Who I am
I am a multi-award-winning, UK trained and board-certified Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Clinical Lead of the Plastic Surgery Department at the NHS Countess of Chester Hospital. I am a full member of BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery).

What I offer
My practice covers breast augmentation with silicone implants (including the latest Preservé technique), breast implant exchange and removal, breast reduction and breast lift, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) - including fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty for patients after major weight loss - Labiaplasty (labia minora reduction surgery) and upper blepharoplasty (upper eyelid loose skin removal), alongside a broader range of plastic surgery procedures. I also carry out skin cancer surgery and the removal of moles, lipomas and cysts, often as day cases under local anaesthetic.
How a consultation works
Every journey starts with a conversation, not a decision. At your first consultation we discuss your concerns, your goals and the realistic benefits and risks of any procedure — there is never any obligation to proceed and surgery is not right for everyone. If you do wish to go ahead, a two-week cooling-off period follows before we meet again, to make sure you feel fully informed and genuinely ready.
